Okay Opponauts, I don’t normally ask for help, but this is something that I’m convicted to do.
I’m trying to raise the funds to buy my father a Challenger Hellcat in any color but green.
If you can help me in ANY way not just donations feel free to contact me in the comments below. I’ve seen a lot of wonderful things happen through Jalopnik before and I know that you guys are generous beyond belief to people who deserve the help, he does. 100%. He is very sick and I would love to give him something that I know we could never afford without some generosity from others
Below is a full synopsis of what I’m trying to do as well as a GoFundMe link.
If you feel convicted to donate, thank you. If you don’t, thank you anyways.
Thanks for taking the time to read!

The Man- My Father is the most spectacular human being the world has ever seen. Born in 1950 he has served our country in Vietnam and served his family for his entire life. He has tirelessly pursued excellence since I can remember being alive. He has been husband to my mother and father to two sister, two brother, as well as myself.
That’s him on the right
Him and I share a lot of common interests but one has resonated since I was a young man. Cars. He taught me so much about the industry and how cars themselves work on a fundamental level and that has now turned into a lifelong passion of my own.Without being too long winded, he really is my best friend.
The Motive- Approimately 8 months ago he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma . It was located in his colon but isn’t Colon cancer. It can metastisize anywhere in the body and with no notice. Fortunately, he beat it, however the oncologist warned us that it would be back and quite possibly in another location. This morning, a mere 5 while getting a PET Scan the doctors learned that the cancer had come back. In 150 days the cancer has now not only come back but located itself in his liver, colon, lungs, lymph nodes, and bone. You don’t have to go to school for 15 Years to understand that what he has is a terminal illness and I’m not sure how much longer our family has together.
The Machine- This is where the generosity of you guys comes in. Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer. I work a full-time job and am going back to school in August, needless to say I have a lot on my plate. As I said above, him and I share a mutual love for cars and more specifically MOPAR’s. If you’re not sure what that means its a union of the words “Motor” and “Parts” that Chrysler corporation used as a name for their performance brand and parts networks through most of its illustrious existence.Recently Chrysler and partner company Fiat (Known as FCA, or Fiat Chrysler Association) released what is quite possibly the most impressive, intimidating, and awe inspiring vehicles that has ever been released to the public.
This is it:
6.2L Supercharged Hemi producing 707hp. 199mph Top Speed. I want more than anything for him to experience ownership of what I know is his dream car. We have babbled endlessly about this car. It’s a dream of his to have one so I’m making it a personal vendetta to do everything I can to give one to him.If 70,000 people donate just $1.00 this goal could be reached in no timeThis is one sad story in a see of others and if there’s one thing I’ve learned its:Someone always has it worse than youHowever that doesn’t mean we can’t help those who have come by tough timesIf you’ve stuck around this long, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your time. Thank you for caring. If you donate, thank you for that.-Phil

Vietnam vet. That’s all that needs to be said, really. Horrible, horrible war.
I’m really sorry about your father. I wish I could contribute, I really could, but being a broke college student, I just can’t.

First of all, I’m sorry to hear about your father’s illness. I hope you and your family manage to stay in high spirits during this difficult time.
Second, I apologize if I misunderstood your post (English is not my maternal language), but is the goal to buy him a Hellcat, or just get him to experience one?
If it’s the latter option, this may help. I don’t know what part of the world you are in, or if this is an option you’d want to pursue, or what they’re like as a company, but if you’re just looking for him to be able to drive one: http://www.bhrentacar.com/car_info/sport…
Best of luck to you and your family.

The likelihood that the cancer is service related peaked my interest immediately. Does your father receive VA benefits?

They do indeed. My uncle was terminal as well and it was an awful thing to watch. Now that it's happening to my side of the family it's even worse
Good advice. I had the idea later on in the evening so I just got everything out together. I hope they have mercy with the No Repost rule.

Dude, having been in your shoes losing loved ones to the big C, that just really sucks. Super sorry for your family to be dealing with this. Hopefully your dad’s time left on this earth are filled with no pain and alot of time to do what he needs to do to rest in peace.
I am going to try and help you. The situation really sucks but this comes off a little odd. There is no closure. If you want people to donate to your cause - let them know what the plan for the car is. If you purchased the Hellcat and your dad got to hoon the wheels off it, then donate it to his favorite charity after his passing for auction, this would be much more palatable to the masses. Or as it has been said before, rental is a viable option. Going to be a hell of alot easier to raise the money by taking one of these tactics.
Again, not trying to be a dick at all, I feel for you. Just trying to help you get your pops behind the wheel!

I’m so sorry to hear about your father and I truly hope your goal is reached!
I am in a similar situation with one of my best friends and wrote a post about it last night to schedule for this morning. When my post shows up, please don’t feel that I am trying to steal your thunder or hijack your idea! Let’s hope that the unsurpassed generosity of Oppo can help both of us reach our goals!
I have made a small donation to your cause - let’s hope it gets things rolling and perhaps if either of us surpass or goals we can help each other out!
To cancer: Fuck you, your mother and the horse you rode in on. Leave us alone.
